Trans Joy Boise and Xanadu present Boise's annual Eve of Remembrance.

We are building a wooden temple in which to place letters, poems, pictures, or other memories of those we wish to remember inside. As a symbol, we are providing butterflies to place as well.

The week prior and to the day of, participants will be able to share the experience of these memories for the entire week. So! Come see all the butterflies and pictures and offerings. Then, at 8 pm on November 20th, we will set the temple aflame and let go of those memories together.

<Note: the bonfire burn will be appropriately sized (collapsed down for the burn to 5' cubed) and safe. The permit is only for a 5' cubed structure with various restrictions, and weather permitting. If it is not deemed okay the evening of the burn, we will take all items into smaller fire pits to burn. SAFETY FIRST!>

This movement is intended to be for everyone, in any city or town, as an evening to remember those who are no longer with us. The butterfly symbolizes transformation and flight. We encourage people to buy small tokens to paint, stain, color, or otherwise make into something we can set afire on the evening of November 20th each year. This helps support us and gives everyone a symbol around which to share our emotions.
