Hey there! Friendly neighborhood Kaden coming up with some crazy schemes to creativity to as many as possible. I came up with the Artist Maze as a way of working with Global Lounge and to open up a path for many artists to do what they love. This maze showcases a myriad of great people and I hope it inspires more. As always, Xanadu does what it can. Hopefully, we eventually attract support to really show what we can do, which is to help our entire region with creative outlets and, eventually, create a space that self funds and pours money back into our region. See Gardens of Xanadu for that concept.

Amiri was born in the Eastern part of D.R. Congo. Amiri has lived and worked in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, S. Africa, and for ten years in Botswana. In 1986 he earned a diploma in Drawing and Perspective. Amiri arrived in the USA in September 2016 and resides in Boise, Idaho. Amiri is a Master Batik artist and has a strong desire to represent family togetherness in his art.

I was born in Lagos state; the western part of Nigeria often known as the New York of Nigeria, due to its metropolitan structure backed up with the daily hustle and bustle. My artistic practice is influenced by my identity and culture as an African, being born and raised in Nigeria; however, I like to identify myself more as African than "Nigerian".

I'm a contemporary African Painter who currently works and lives in the United States. I hold a bachelor's degree in art and a minor in visual communication. 

​

My subject matter and narrative as a contemporary African artist revolves around Post-colonialism, centering on historical, social, and cultural issues that concern Africa today.

Flora Lagattuta was born and raised in Boise, Idaho. Studying in the PNW for college she returned to Idaho in 2013. She is a multi-media craftswoman focusing mainly on floral design, jewelry design, and sewing since 2001. She has also done dance since the age of 8. In 2017 she traveled to Zimbabwe, Uganda, and South Africa to study traditional Zimbabwean dance & music with her teachers Martha Mafuleni and Jacob Mafuleni of Tsoro Arts. She also did social work in Uganda and Zimbabwe. This eventually led her to meet her husband Emmanuel Bbaale, in 2017 and she has lived in both places since then.

This piece focuses firstly on the perspective of residing in two places that couldn’t be more different. The pull that occurs to both spirit and mind, and being connected forever to both in different ways. I will work to convey that which I have learned & grown from as a result of Uganda being my other home. My experiences in both places shaping the person I have become and shaping my relationships. I’ll include some of my favorite things about Ugandan culture, my perspective on life, the world, what is important, wealth, poverty, spirituality, family, privilege, my dreams, and sustainability.

Kim Kohlbecker spends as much time as possible surrounding herself with arts of all types. Oil painting is her favorite, lately acrylics and sharpies are her go-to medium. The darkness in Kims life is not reflected in colors as she prefers to start with bright happy colors.   

The dream was to be an amazing mural artist. Her most important mural contract was her “Panda” aka grand-daughter.  “Dani” (Kim) created a wonderland with enough room for her imagination to run wild.

A Boise transplant 30 years ago Kim continues to paint for fun and keeps all her art as “Play Time”.

All my paintings and artwork are signed using my birth given last name Munson. I use painting as a way to express my fight with my own demons. This painting is my way of expressing how 33 years of protecting my abusers had taken my soul from me. The fight between my body and my head was trying to kill me from the inside out. Once I talked about it. I started to feel me. The more I spoke out about it the better it was. By unburying my blocked emotions and finally coming to the realization that these things did happen to me I was able to come back to being the real me that I have always been.

My art expresses my compassion for those I care for. My art is conveyed using Digital and Traditional methods with a variety of mediums. Art is meaningful because it bridges the gap between all of our existence, and our external media world. It brings life to our experiences. The direction of my work is creating character designs to be used in stories and media, as well as to design individual peices and dabble in imaginative backgrounds. My approach toward art is that it is my work, and so I dedicate myself to the hours required for my creations.

I'm an artist that's been drawing for over half my life. Someday I hope to turn my art into a career. I also really like capybaras and guinea pigs :)

Artpiece description: The artpiece I'm working on depicts my brother and I's characters that we've made, at the end of their Journey all posing together. using Acrylic and touches of pencil for defining some lines.

My late husband and I have 4 kids and one angel.  My angel passed away Sept 8, 2023.  The piece is hopefully inspiring, as Delaney was stuck in an imperfect envelope here, and went everywhere in her wheelchair.  But now I like to imagine she is free to soar.

I am creating a care farm in Delaney's honor.  The name is Giant Dream Mini Farm, and we hope to make it a place of love, laughter and learning for people of all abilities.  Please visit our page on Facebook to learn more about the farm, the plans, and the hope we have to include everyone.

My friends and family call me Jess. I am a 31 year old mother of 2 and have always had a knack for drawing. Painting isn't something I've practiced so this piece was a fun learning experience! 

​

This art piece is based on a fantasy DND-like story my brother made up. We are both janitors, and while working, we could call and he would create this amazing story about the 4 horseman of the apocalypse and his character. Her name is Scarlet but she goes by Scar. She is the protagonist to this story and one that I, myself, made up with my brother's help. She is a centaur witch and has an affinity for fire magic. Her ace in the hole is summoning a phoenix. She is going through a journey through the dark forest, hoping to stop Death before he destroys the land further.
